When, for the most part, it all looks pretty much the same….

Before you even begin designing the field sampling and evaluation program, you start by collecting data – lots and lots of data!

Meet with local expert scientists, landowners, farmers and ranchers to collect historical data.  Pull legacy maps and reports and speak with local ranchers to learn more about historical land use – crops farmed and rotations, never-broken areas, pastureland, droughts, ownership, tillage, grazing, irrigation, etc.….


Walk the site to “look at it”, evaluate surface features, take cores in areas of interest and characterize the site.
Identify possible representative locations for the Innovation SitesSM
Perform a detailed vegetation survey across entire acreage
Combine EC mapping, aerial/satellite images, vegetation survey and core samples to highlight distinct fields and strata of interest
Ground truth. Walk the site some more! Next, design the sampling program
